Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from March of that year.

The win also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, comprising in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was finished.

However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the last five points to go ahead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour victory, gained dominance to force a final set.

The opponent saved four initial break points in a close deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, he secured the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
